The “fish out of water” story is a classic one, with potential for tension, humour, and vulnerability. Perhaps you bought a plane ticket planning for adventure and ended up experiencing culture shock instead. Or maybe your parents sent you to private school and you thought everybody was a snob but then it turned out you were the snob.
