Former EVENT contributor Marcello Di Cintio will be at the Roundhouse Community Centre in Vancouver on November 27^th (along with Carol Shaben), reading from his new book Walls: Travels Along the Barricades (Goose Lane Editions).

Di Cintio’s entry, “Bone Etchings and Blood Tattoos: Letters from Niger” was one of three winners of our 2000 Non-Fiction Contest (published in EVENT 29/3, December 2000). That piece was a Finalist in the Personal Journalism category of the 2001 National Magazine Awards, as well as Finalist in the Human Experience category of the 2001 Western Magazine Awards.

Walls: Travels Along the Barricades has been longlisted for the 2013 BC National Award for Canadian Non-Fiction, and we look forward to welcoming him back to Vancouver!
