In this instance, the vibrant colour of the sea, the ripples on the surface of the water and the intricate shape of the kelp grabbed my attention. I wanted to capture the movement, pattern, and striking colours." Catherine Babault on her cover photo, Kelp at Low Tide 🌿 🌊

Eeeeeee! Finally got to see my poems in the latest issue of @eventmags alongside stunners @steffi.tady @mabuntupoetry and others ☺️☺️☺️! I had to try not to weep when I read these poems at @ideoglyph’s launch! Making myself cry since c.1720!! (I am an old soul). 🙃 Aaaand my first issue as the arts ed of @thismagca has brought me so much joy!! It’s a real thrill to be a part of one of my fave mags and to see ppl like @afineshow and @brennanmccracken in these pages 💜 Ty to ed @therealrealtmz and outgoing arts ed Madi Haslam for the smooth transition and help 💫💕 And tho this is all super lovely, I had a Zoom-induced health situation a few weeks ago, but what got me out of it was another Zoom *doh*; for Open Book, I wrote about @oelakkad’s excellent @the_fold talk on “resistance fiction” and how it helped me understand why I feel scared of my novel 🤣😅 🙏🏼 Very grateful. Hope it helps you too 💕🌲🐛
